About Add Text Watermark to PDF
The Add Text Watermark to PDF tool stamps any text — DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, your company name, a copyright notice, Bates numbers — onto any PDF. Drop your PDF, type the text, drag to position, pick the font, size, color, rotation, opacity, and apply.
The point of a text watermark. Text watermarks are the standard for legal exhibits, contract drafts, internal-only documents, and copyright marking. A diagonal “DRAFT” across the page makes accidental sharing of the wrong version impossible. “CONFIDENTIAL” at the top of every page sets the expectation up front. A copyright stamp on photo or design portfolios deters unauthorized reuse. All of these are jobs this tool is built for.
Pick the look. The font defaults to Arial, but you can switch to Calibri, Cambria, Georgia, Times, Verdana, or Courier. Size is 8–200pt — 40pt is a good default for body-text-sized stamps, 60–80pt for full-page DRAFT overlays. Color is anything you pick (red is traditional for DRAFT and CONFIDENTIAL). Rotation is 0–360°; 45° gives the classic diagonal stamp. Opacity is 5–100%; 40–60% works well for non-distracting visible stamps.
Pick which pages to stamp. All pages is the default. First page only is useful for cover-page-only stamps. Custom (e.g. “1, 3, 5-7”) lets you target a specific subset.
